Trafford Grand Prix

PBs APLENTY AT STRETFORD

The night before winning the North Wales 5k title in Rhyl Georgina Outten was among several athletes from the region who set pbs at the Trafford Grand Prix meeting.

 In the 1,500m she was third U20 in a time of 4-20.82, just behind William Sheridan (Deeside), who clocked 4-20.07. In the same race Matthew Blackwell (also Deeside) in a pb of 4-19.47.

 Fifteen-year-old Cari Hughes (Menai) was up against more experienced athletes in her 1,500 race and came third in 4-32.17, also a pb, while in the 3,000m her brother Iolo finished eighth in 8-38.51. In third place was Russell Bentley (Kent/Eryri) in 8-33.18.

 Another 3,000m race on the same night was won by Oswestry teenager Jimmy Kershaw in 8-50.96.
