Teifi 10

ROBERTS SHINES IN LAMPETER

Tomos Roberts (Meirionnydd), who has been in tremendous form for second-claim club Prestatyn in the Borders League, boosted his chances of a place in the North Wales development squad which competed in the Teifi 10-miler in Lampeter and which incorporated the Welsh championships.

The race was won by Swansea's Joshua Griffiths in 52.26 but Roberts had a fine race, finishing fifth in 54.57.

In eighth place was the amazing 60-year-old Martin Rees (Les Croupiers) in 55.27, with Andrew Edwards (Deestriders) 10th in 57.42.

Prestatyn clubmates Abbie Cheetham and Amie Bagnall had their own friendly battle, but the former just pulled away at the finish to set a new pb of 77.04. Amie came in 19 seconds behind.

The only other North Walian who turned out was Bro Dysynni's super-vet Sheila Symonds (L80), who clocked 2-36.
