NORTH WALES MASTERS AMONG THE AWARDS
The focus may have been on Mo Farah and the world's elite but North Wales athletes grabbed their own glory in the London Marathon with some outstanding performances.
Eryri's Alun Vaughan led the North Wales charge, finishing 16th overall in the open race in 2-26.30. Exactly three minutes behind was Deeside veteran Lee Jones who was 37th overall but third in the M40 class in a superb 2-29.30, even more remarkable considering it was his debut at the distance. Darren Rowlands (Wrexham) was 115th and third M45 in 2-39.24.
Emma Crowe (Wrexham) also had an outstanding run, clocking 2-54.33 for 29th place and fifth in the L40 class.
