WILLIS REPEATS SCHOOLS SUCCESS
Wrexham's Matthew Willis followed up his gold at the English Schools' cross-country championships with silver in the track and field championships at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.
The King's School pupil came second in his U15 1,500m heat in 4-16.04 but then set a pb of 4-07.49 in the final.
At the BMC Grand Prix meeting in Stretford Georgina Outten (Birchfield) was fifth overall but first U20 in a quality 3,000m with a time of 9-37.16, some way outside her best.
At the same meeting Russell Bentley (Kent/Eryri) was third in his 1,500m in 3-56.94, while Bangor University student James Wignall (Sale) was 13th in 4-01.66.
Former Bangor student Nick Swinburn was fourth in the 3,000m in 8-08.87.
