Inter-counties teams

THE TOUGHEST TEST

North Wales youngsters who have had an exceptional winter face their toughest test yet at the UK inter-counties' cross-country championships in Birmingham on March 8.

 Siblings Iolo and Cari Hughes have already proved themselves at UK Cross-Challenge meetings but will do well to repeat their successes at an event which attracts the very best in all age-groups.

 Of all the sections, the under-15 boys probably have the best chance of team success for North Wales.

 The squads are:-
Girls under 13: Y Baker, S Paxton (Wrex), H Roberts, C Vaughan (CB), L Sharp, R Davies (Dee), M Goodland (Menai).
 Girls under 15: C Howell-Williams, C Hughes, E Roberts (Menai), M Owen (Dee), H Pryce, Z Baker (Osw), M Randell, O Sofianos (Mald).
 Ladies under 17: A Backshall (CB), M Davies (Menai), L Davis (Dee), C Evans (Mald), P Hughes (Osw), B Jenkinson (Eryri).
 Ladies under 20: A Cheetham (Prestatyn), G Outten (CB), E Rowlands (Wrex), L Sharpe (Eryri).
 Senior ladies: L Morley, L Wright (Wrex), K Parry (Leeds), A Rowlands, B Law (Eryri),I Redfern (CB), D Williams (Menai).
 Boys under 13: E Ackroyd, M Moore, W Harding (Dee), R Finnie, S Jones, C Morgan-Roberts, M Powell (Menai), D Gill (Mald).
