ROTHERY MAINTAINS PIERS RECORD
Eryri's "Mr Consistent" Brendan Rothery maintained his amazing record when he won the Twin Piers 10k, which was blessed with ideal conditions.
Since 2006 his placings in the event have been 3rd, (did not run in 2007) 2nd, 4th, 2nd, 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Buxton's Robert White stayed with Rothery for the first 3k but over the next 3k the Eryri athlete pulled away and went on to win by 23 seconds.
Jamie Loxam (Stockport), who had lain fourth with only 1k to go stormed through to take second place.
The women's race was also something of a procession, with Emma Crowe soon opening a gap on her friend and fellow-vet Issy Redfern and coming home over a minute clear.
