PALETTA A NARROW LOSER
Wrexham athlete Gina Paletta, who missed the Pre-Nationals two weeks ago due to illness, finished 3rd in the West Coast Conference Championships hosted by Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
The Portland student was just two seconds behind the second finisher and five behind the winner. The Portland team will be racing again in the regional championships in Sacramento in two weeks' time.
The North Wales contingent in the States continues to grow, with Eryri's GB mountain-runner Nathan Jones having gained a scholarship to study at Oklahoma City, the same university as David Mountford (Liverpool Harriers and Deeside)
Also in the States are Sarah Livett (Menai) and Abi Oliver (Deeside).
