PARRY WINS TITLE ON HOME GROUND
Rhyl's Welsh international Katie Parry (Leeds City) took the Welsh 5k title on her home territory with a time of 18.24. She finished about a minute ahead of runner-up Sally Wilder (San Domenico).
Russell Bennett (Kent and Eryri) was the first man home but the Welsh title went to second-placed Josh Griffiths (Swansea), who was one second behind.
There were several other local age-group winners in the 5k as well as the 10k, half-marathon and marathon races held as part of the same meeting.
Wrexham AC had a triple success, Daniel Weston beating Brendan Rothery by just five seconds in the half-marathon and his clubmate Gina Paletta taking the ladies' prize by a massive 13 minutes.
The first man home in the marathon was Wrexham veteran Ian James, who yet again chalked up a 2-50 time. Hannah Oldroyd was the first woman, with Deestriders' Jay Jennions second in 3-11.57.
