Inter-regional Champs

North Wales finished second to West Wales at the Welsh inter-regional track and field championships at Colwyn Bay after a solid all-round performance.

It was the under-17 men who were the top performers. winning their age-group thanks largely to good results in the middle distance events.

Two of the day's championships were set by local hammer-throwers - Osian Jones in the senior men and Amber Simpson in the U17 women's class. Simpson, in fact, claimed a hat-trick of victories in the hammer, discus and shot.
