HUGHES PRODUCES REPEAT PERFORMANCE
It was a case of " Home Sweet Home" in the first fixture of the Grand Prix Express North Wales Cross-Country League at Bangor as local athletes claimed individual and team glory.
Menai Track and Field achieved an outstanding hat-trick, with the winners of the men's women's and youths' races, while Eryri Harriers diominated the team competitions.
Teenager Iolo Hughes repeated his success in the men's event, pulling away from Rob Samuel after the Eryri runner had stuck with him for the opening laps.
Hughes's sister Cari was equally impressive, winning the ladies' race by well over a minute, while Oliver Barbaresi strode to a big win in the under-17s' competition.
GOGs Tri Club, on their first appearance in the League, turned out in force and did well both individually and in the team placings.
