JONES EARNS FIRST TITLE WIN FOR DEESIDE
After a brilliant run in London last year Deeside veteran Lee Jones had looked forward to returning to the scene this year until injury interrupted his training.
He has recently come back to form and compensated for missing the trip to London by winning the North Wales 10-mile title in Wrexham, becoming the first Deeside athlete to do so since Nigel Haskins won in 1993.
He led from the start with only Brendan Rothery offering any kind of challenge, but the Eryri runner, still returning from injury, was unable to add to his two previous wins.
It was much the same in the ladies' race, with Tracey Llewellyn (Cybi ), Annest Muller (West Cheshire) and Lisa Morley (Wrexham) finishing 1-2-3 within 23 seconds of each other after being in that order throughout.
