Chester Half-Marathon

"MR CONSISTENCY" DOES IT AGAIN

Wrexham's Marathon Man Ian James proved as consistent as ever in the Chester half-marathon, winning the M50 class in 2-49.18.

 The first North Walian home, in 16th place overall, was his clubmate Daniel Weston, who clocked 2-41.07 .

 Among other North Wales results were: Abergele: Jodi Waters 2-59.33. Buckley: Gareth Houghton 3-23.00. Cybi: Chris Thomas 3-25.09. Deestriders: Neil Robinson 2-58.18, Jay Jennions 3-10.23. Prestat yn: George Nicholls 3-23.27, Gareth Bailey 3-33.49. Wrexham: Craig Prandle  3-15.33, Gwyn Roberts 3-16.25, Peter Hughes  3-27.22, David Ford 3-28.10.

 In the Metric Marathon over the same course Denbigh's John Edward Morris came second in 1-44.53. Other North Wales times were:- Deestriders: Vince Edwards  2-05.48. Denbigh: Rory Wilkinson 2-05.38. NWRR: Jon Evans  2-04.37, Kay Hatton 2-15.37 (3rd L50), Cheryl Frost 2-21.50. Wrexham: Richard Westwood 2-21.24.
