Ceiriog Canter

RECORDS SMASHED AT A CANTER

The men's and ladies' course records were broken at the Ceiriog Canter 6.2-mile fell-race which attracted a good entry as it was a counter in the Cotswold Outdoor North Wales series.

 Veteran Lloyd Taggart took four minutes off Jon Bowie's record, set in 2011, while Andrew Rowlands bettered her own 2011 time by over a minute. Rowlands had a superb run, finishing 10th overall.

M50: 1 N Shepherd (Bowland) 50.01, 2 V Belshaw (Denbigh) 52.23, 3 J Randell (Meirionnydd) 52.39. M60: 1 M Cortvriend (Denbigh) 57.16, 2 C Wilcox (Clwydian) 57.48, 3 A French (Wrexham) 58.23. M70: 1 P Roberts (Buckley) 59.53, 2 J Morris (Buckley) 67.05.
 Ladies: 1 A Rowlands (Eryri, L40) 51.26, 2 E Collins (Denbigh, L50) 58.53, 3 S Ryder (Wrecsam Tri, L40) 59.52, 4 V Whitehead (Denbigh, L40) 62.13, 5 J Robinson (Helsby, L40) 64.03, 6 R Arnols (Helsby, L50) 65.06.
