Sport in the Port

JONES AND EDWARDS LEAD NORTH WALES GLORY RUN

 North Wales athletes dominated the competition in the Sport in the Port event at Ellesmere Port, with Rhyl's Nathan Jones (Liverpool H) winning the 10k and Andrew Edwards (Cybi) the 5k.

 In fact it was a 1-2-3 for Wales in the longer race, with Christian Prior (Salford) from Prestatyn second and Daniel Weston (Wrexham) third.

 Among the leading North Wales results were: 1 N Jones (Liverpool H) 31.42, 2 C Prior (Salford) 31.44, 3 D Weston (Wrex) 33.25, 10 Craig Davies (Deestriders, 2nd M40) 36.24, 12 Andrew Campbell (Wrecsam Tri) 36.55, 23 Emma Crowe (Wrexsam, 3rd Lady, 1st L40) 38.08, 24 Andy Jones (Wrex) 38.11, 29 Michael Austin (Buckley) 38.36, 35 Gary Blackwell (Deeside, 3rd M45) 39.16, 40 Chris Thomas (Cybi) 39.58, 42 David Baugh (Denbigh, 1st M50) 40.19, 43 Stephen Bellis (Buckley, 2nd M55) 40.22, 56 Stewart McElmeel (Deestriders) 40.58, 61 Chris Hyndman (Deestriders) 41.07. 1st 50: Jackie Jarvis (Osw) 46.14.

 5k: 1 Andrew Edwards (Cybi) 16.40.
